An Argument for Healing Modalities

It is evident that the world needs energy healers. The medical and psychological based professions may assist us in healing, but they are limited by the physical, matter creates consciousness, model of reality that is found in most academics, and therefore medical and psychological practices. While our physical reality is persistent in making us believe it is all that exists, there is a missing component. As everything is energy, resonating at different frequencies, energy healing can be incorporated into full mind, body and soul healing, in conjunction with traditional modalities.

Reiki works on all levels, as it is applied to human, animal and plant health systems. Manmade structures such as homes, businesses, vehicles, institutions, and anything else made by people may also benefit from the application of Reiki. It assists in clearing negative and stagnant energies as it clears the energies within a chosen space. It may also be applied to every situation and difficulty we approach.

Reiki uses Universal Life Force energy, or Light, to help clear blocks in the body, similar to how Acupuncture works, in that just as a needle can help remove blocks in the Meridians, Light will remove energy blocks in the energy systems within the body, giving it the space to heal itself. The Light also works, as a creative force, to help heal the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies within the human and animal systems, working with the holographic field of information that is in every proton that exists within the universe, as purported by Quantum Physicist, Nassim Haramein. As everything is energy, this works at the atomic level and beyond.

Reiki is listed in scientific terms as a “biofield therapy”, which is an electric or magnetic field that is generated by biological organisms from algae to plants, air, land and water based animals and in humans. Biofields are generated by calcium, sodium and potassium that are moving in and out of cells. Because any changing or moving electric field generates a magnetic field, every cell and organ within the body generates its own biofield. The accumulation of all these fields becomes the sum field of all electrical generating processing in the body. It is called a biofield to distinguish it from an electric field, as the source of the energy that moves and is generated in and by the body through organic substances.

The biofield in humans extends fifteen feet, or more, from the body and when a practitioner is in a heart centered state, this causes the recipient of Reiki, Universal Life Force energy, or Light to match the state of the practitioner, much in the same way that a larger pendulum will influence and entrain a smaller pendulum to move in the same direction when placed close together. Heart and brain entrainment is believed to occur in two ways. One is through the magnetic biofield of a person’s heart and through mirror neurons in the Mirror Neuron System, which is responsible for the phenomenon of emotional entanglement, where a person tends to feel the emotions of people they spend a lot of time with. This is often experienced with empaths, or energy sensitives, who can also sense the emotions of strangers, often whether they can see the other person or not, suggesting a macro effect of entanglement of particles across great distances in relation to the biological function of the heart and brain entrainment effect.

Entrainment of the heart and brain has been a viable theory in the study of Reiki, according to Dr David Hamilton, PhD, author of “Why Woo Woo Works”. This is attributed to the known biofields created in all living systems. Reiki facilitates the client’s own healing systems through entrainment of the biofield. Entrainment works through energetic magnetic forces in the biofield from the practitioner to the client. This entrainment causes the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, putting the recipient of the Reiki energy into a deep relaxed and meditative state during the channeling of Ki energy from Universal Source.

The scientific viewpoint of Reiki shows that through clinical studies, Reiki is better than placebo in activating the parasympathetic nervous system, as measured by reduced heart rate, reduced blood pressure, and increased heart rate variability. In the case of chronic health conditions, Reiki has been found to be more effective than placebo for reducing pain, anxiety and depression and for improving self esteem and quality of life. The neurovisceral integration model and the polyvagal theory states that these effects are due to the higher parasympathetic nervous system activity, facilitated by the vagus nerve.

Because everything that exists within the Universe is the Universe, Reiki, or Universal Life Force energy may be applied to every being, structure, situation, hope and dream. It works at every level. The only limit is belief and application.
